Our mind is very powerful. The body listens to the mind. Our cells react to every thought via chemical messengers called neuropeptides. Thus, a thought or feeling result in physical sensation. Our perception of our reality, our belief system is an accumulation of verbal and nonverbal suggestions in our lifetime experiences. The way we think and what we think about can affect our overall wellness.

Mindfulness is the practice of focusing on the here and now, the present moment.  It is the state of being aware of your thoughts, senses, bodily sensations, environment and surroundings with a nourishing non-judgmental lens. Becoming more aware promotes a sense of calm, reduces stress, allows for the ability to cope with difficult, unhelpful thoughts and promotes self-love. Meditation is another self-healing tool that when practiced regularly have many benefits e.g. reducing stress, lower blood pressure and heart rate, improves immunity, improves quality of sleep, increases energy, balances appetite and helps with weight management.
